Meet Kim
Kim started with Palmetto Early Intervention Service in 2014. She was raised in Boiling Springs, S.C. and has over 20 years of experience with special needs children in the school district, DSS and preschool programs. Kim is a graduate of Limestone College and has her Master's in Education from Converse College. She has experience with community networking and communication with various agencies, school districts, and professionals.
Kim served as a social worker with Spartanburg County Department of Social Services and later had the privilege of working for School District 7 as a Parent Educator. She went into the home, educating parents on the importance of Brain Development from birth to five years of age and encouraged parental involvement with materials and activities to address chronological development in various areas such as cognitive, emotional, physical, language and social skills. It was a true blessing to watch babies grow while witnessing their developmental gains, as well as seeing the parents feel a sense of accomplishment.
She has also served as a social worker in a Nursing Home and taught preschool and kindergarten. Kim has worked with all types of people from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, with many different needs allowing her to see the glass half full rather than half empty. She has three children, one in college and two that have graduated from school.
Kim is aware of the needs that each age faces and recognizes the hardship of being a single mom. Palmetto Early Intervention is fortunate to have someone with so much experience to work within our agency.
